FINISHES & FRAMING

Finishes — Framing

Our Fine Art works are framed with high-quality materials, carefully selected to provide protection, stability and long-term conservation. The materials follow conservation standards used in the art market and in museum environments, limiting the artwork's exposure to factors that could compromise its integrity over time.

Every frame is made to measure for each photograph, ensuring a precise finish suited to the dimensions of the work.

Light or Dark Wood Frame

A solid wood frame, made to measure for the photograph, with a face of 1.5 to 3 cm and a depth of 2 to 3 cm.

  • 2 mm clear float glass;
  • Backing in pH-neutral foam board, suitable for conservation;
  • Hanging hardware fitted on the reverse;
  • Handcrafted finish, produced in small batches.

White or Black Frame

A lacquered wood frame, made to measure for the photograph, with a 2 cm face and depth.

  • 2 mm clear float glass;
  • Backing in pH-neutral foam board, suitable for conservation;
  • Hanging hardware fitted on the reverse;
  • Handcrafted finish, produced in small batches.

Presentation of the Artwork

Full Bleed

The photograph sits directly against the glass and the frame, with no additional space between the elements. The image is shown in full, with no cropping and no change to its original proportions.

Passe-Partout (Mat)

The photograph is presented with a white pH-neutral passe-partout, creating a breathing space between the image and the frame.

The photograph stays centred, with 3 cm of margin to the frame, adding roughly 6 cm to the final dimensions of the work, both horizontally and vertically.

Beyond setting the photograph off visually, the passe-partout creates a physical separation between the print and the glass, contributing to its conservation.

Fine Art Conservation

The choice of finishing materials is part of preserving the work. For our Fine Art photographs we prioritise professional-grade, conservation-standard materials, chosen to give the print greater stability and longevity.

The whole assembly — photograph, support, passe-partout, glass, backing and frame — is conceived so that the work can be enjoyed and preserved for many years, keeping its visual and material characteristics.

Please note: the images shown are for illustration only. As these are handcrafted pieces made to measure and in small batches after the order is confirmed, slight variations in tone, texture and finish may occur.
